My paintings reflect what comes to me when I look deeply at the natural landscape. In my work I depict not only the physical landscape but also the internal landscapes that are connected to emotion, mind, breath, blood flow, internal organs, muscles and all six senses.

In my recent works I have focused on the unstable energy that is constantly flowing from nature, from myself, and also on the initial emotion itself. I integrate these processes into my paintings. With the creation of each artwork I am also inquiring with this early childhood question; “Why am I here now?”

The use of strong colors in the work depict the strength of energy. Painting the colors in many layers highlights the fluctuation and the profoundness of these colors. The intensity of light and the emotional mindset of the observer may cause them to see and experience the artworks in different ways.

I keep the initial emotion recognizable with the texture of the brush strokes. I hope that the thick and rough surface of the canvas represents the texture of wood and soil, the surface of water, and the vivid emotion of the heart. I express the gravity of nature and the profoundness of life within the thick layering of the paint texture and colors.
